This is Phil talking about his experience of homelessness. Phil’s story shows us that, like many others, moving from sleeping on the streets to sleeping in a winter night shelter can be a life-changing difference.
I started breathing again. There was a way out, and I could see it. I still carry that hope inside me. I know it’s going to get better.
To me it’s made a really big difference because I’ve not always had the support they have.
The first thing the staff did was make sure I got a hot meal and a piping mug of tea.
